New round of Renaissance Dam negotiations in the United States... Shoukry heads to Washington, D.C.

​Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed this evening to Washington, D.C. in order to participate in the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Water Resources of Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia on the Renaissance Dam, hosted by the U.S. Administration with the presence of the World Bank.

The meeting takes place in light of what was agreed upon by the stakeholders during the last round of negotiations held in Washington, D.C. on January 28- 31, 2020; that is to convene a new meeting for the three countries’ Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Water Resources in the U.S. capital on February 12-13, 2020, in order to approve the final version of a comprehensive agreement on the rules for the dam’s filling and operationalization.
