On November 12, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received Dr. Nabil Al-Sharif, the Executive Director of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures, at the Ministry’s headquarters. Various aspects of cooperation relations between Egypt and the Foundation were discussed with the aim of supporting dialogue among cultures and mutual understanding between peoples of both banks of the Mediterranean.
In his remarks, official MFA spokesperson Counselor Ahmed Hafez mentioned that the Foundation’s Executive Director extended an invitation to FM Shoukry to participate in the 59th Board of Governors meeting, which is scheduled to be held on November 24, 2019 in Alexandria; this is the first time Egypt hosts this meeting, 15 years following the Foundation’s establishment.
Counselor Hafez stated that FM Shoukry emphasized that Egypt is keen on providing the necessary support to the Foundation to enable it to perform its vital role in bridging between peoples through discussing social, cultural and humanitarian issues, which is what the Executive Director expressed his appreciation towards.
