Egypt provides pharmaceutical assistance to sister Somalia

Official MFA Spokesperson Counselor Ahmed Abu Zeid stated that, in light of Egyptian efforts in support of the sister state of Somalia, a shipment of pharmaceutical assistance provided by the Arab Republic of Egypt has been delivered to capital Mogadishu’s airport. This was through the the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) and in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Egyptian Red Crescent.

The MFA Spokesperson added that the festivities witnessed ample participation from various Somali political and military circles at the forefront of which was the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, the Deputy Chief of the Armed Forces, the Governor of Mogadishu, the Minister of Defense’s Advisor, the General Director of the Ministry of Health, as well as, many members of the Somali Senate and House of the People and a group from various Somali media outlets. This was with the presence of the Charge d'affaires a.i. at the Egyptian Embassy in Mogadishu. Abu Zeid, further, explained that another shipment of pharmaceutical assistance provided by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development is currently underway to Somalia.

Somali officials expressed their thanks and gratitude for the assistance Egypt provides and its significance in saving the Somali people and helping them overcome the current challenges they face.
