In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 14 May 2018, the Arab Republic of Egypt expressed its strong condemnation of the targeting of defenseless Palestinian civilians by the Israeli Occupation Forces, killing so far 37 martyrs and injuring more than 1,600 others.

The statement outlined Egypt's categorical rejection of the use of force against peaceful marches demanding legitimate and just rights, and warned off the negative consequences of such a dangerous escalation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Egypt stressed its full support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially its right to establish its independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
