In a December 19th statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Arab Republic of Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the attempt to target the Saudi capital Riyadh with a ballistic missile. The missile was launched from Yemeni territories before it was intercepted 25 kilometers south of the capital.

Egypt asserted that its people and government stand with the people and government of the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of any attempt to target its security and stability. It emphasized the need to immediately stop any targeting of Saudi territories and hold whoever is proven to be involved in these assaults accountable while upholding the principles of international law, the UN Charter, and what they entail with regards to respecting state sovereignty and considering good neighborliness.
