Bilateral Relations​

  • Egyptian-Bosnian relations began in 1992. Egypt was one of the first countries that recognized Bosnia and Herzegovina independence, and opened a resident Embassy in Sarajevo in 1996.
  • Egypt participates in the membership of the Board of the Peace Implementation council (PIC) in Bosnia, which was established by the London peace implementation conference in Bosnia in December 1995.

Main mutual visits:​​​

  • Bosnia's Deputy Prime Minister for Trade, Investment and Tourism, as well as the Grand Mufti of Bosnia and the Balkans visited Egypt on April 17-21 2016.
  • The tripartite Bosnian Presidential council visited Egypt on February 7 - 8, 2010.
  • Former Foreign Minister of Egypt visited Bosnia and Herzegovina in February 2010, within the framework of the Balkan tour.
  • The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a political consultation mechanism in 1998, the first round was held in Sarajevo in January 2005. the first round of the Egyptian Bosnian Joint Committee for economic, scientific and technical cooperation was held in Cairo in November 2009. The Egyptian side was headed by the Minister of International Cooperation at the time and the Bosnian side was headed by the Minister of Trade and Economic Relations.
