During the first Egyptian-Ukrainian Business Council meeting in Kiev in December 2006, the agreement regarding establishing the Council was signed. The council includes Egyptian and Ukrainian businessmen, and the Egyptian side is headed by Mr. Gamal Al-Egezi. The Council aims to:
1) Facilitate contacts between members regarding business opportunities. 2) Provide an appropriate forum for exchanging viewpoints and opinions on business issues. 3) Support Egyptian-Ukrainian companies seeking to enter the other country’s market. 4) Provide a way for members to access government bodies in the other country to tackle issues related to the council’s work. 5) Informing council members about local and international trade fairs, exhibitions, and seminars held in Egypt and Ukraine.
The second Council meeting was held in Cairo in March 2007, where various business issues were discussed including trade in pharmaceuticals, tourism, energy, and communications.
