(I) Egyptian official visits

-         HE President Muhammed Hosni Mubarak visited Romania in the years 1999, 2001 and 2004. There is also a current invitation extended to His Excellency from HE President Traian Basescu – President of Romania- to visit Romania during the coming period.

-       The Honorable Speaker of the Egyptian People's Assembly, Mr. Fathy Serrour, also visited Romania in 2005, when he met his counterparts in the Romanian Parliament.

-      During the month of March 2009, Mr. Abdel Majeed Mahmoud – The Egyptian General Prosecutor- visited Bucharest and  participated in the 3^rd International conference of Attorney Generals and General Prosecutors.

(II)  Romanian official visits

-         A number of the previous presidents of Romania visited Egypt during the last two decades, among them President Constantinescu and President Iliescu. The current President of Romania "HE President Traian Basescu" visited Egypt in February 2007 .

-         During his visit to Cairo, HE President Basescu met HE President Muhammed Hosni Mubarak , as well as the Prime Minister of Egypt, and the Speakers of the Egyptian Parliament. Also, a number of agreements were signed during the visit in the fields of economic, scientific and technical cooperation; protection and promotion of investment; and an agreement regarding the cooperation of the two Investment Authorities in Egypt and Romania.

-        The last visit of a Romanian Foreign Minister to Egypt was in October 2007 when Mr. Adrian Cioroianu visited Cairo and met HE Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as Mr. Amr Moussa – The Secretary General of the Arab League- and also visited  the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Anna Lindh foundation.

-        Mr. Adrian Cioroianu also participated in the conference that was held in Sharm El Sheikh for Iraq, in 2007.

-        The last ministerial visit to Egypt was of the Romanian Minister of Small and medium sized Enterprises who visited Cairo in September 2009 along side a delegation that included a number of Romanian Businessmen and 19 representatives of Romanian companies.
