In the year 2005 numerous saudi – egyptian religious and cultural activities were carried out including :

1- The signing by the ministers of wakf a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of wakfs and islamic affairs during the visit by the egyptian minister of wakf to jeddah on 29 , 30 march .

2- Tthe signing by the egyptian mufti , sheikh aly jommah and the saudi minister of wakf of an agreement on the methodology of fatwa , and considering the difference in view points a source of diversity rather than contradiction .
3- The signing by the ministers of education an executive programme on cooperation in the field of education covering the period from 2005 to2007 .

4- The chief of the sector of youth – the egyptian ministry of youth – participated in the first conference of the ministers of youth and sport – held in jeddah on 3 , 4 april - of the countries that participated in the first olympics of islamic solidarity .
5- The saudi ministry of culture and information proposed a draft executive programme on cultural cooperation between the two countries during the saudi minister dr. abdul salam al farsy's visit to egypt in april 2004 . the draft is being studied by experts from the two ministries .

6- The saudi minister of culture and information , iad bin amin madany , visited egypt in june 2005 and met with his counterpart , dr. anas elfeqy . the saudi minister attended the saudi intellectual gathering organized by the saudi embassy in cairo .
7- The egyptian embassy in riyadh addressed the minister of higher education recommending the consideration of organising egyptian educational fairs in the kingdom . this came in light of the wishes expressed by the officials of some egyptian private universities to visit saudi arabia , in order to display the educational opportunities offered by these institutions .the aim of the idea was to harmonize the efforts of the officials in these educational institutions in this respect .the idea includes also forming a cultural delegation composed of officials in the universities concerned headed by the deputy minister of higher education .

8- The national council for children's culture held the talented child competition in short story , essay writing and drawing for the year 2005 , in which children from saudi arabia participated .

9- The first islamic solidarity olympics were held in april 2005 in 4 cities in saudi arabia , namely : mecca , medinah , jeddah and altaif . egypt participated in 13 games with 197 sportsmen and came second winning 42 medals .

10- The general authority of cultural centers extended invitations to saudi artists and sculuptures to participate in the first arab gathering for pottery held in quena governorate from 15 to 29 mars 2006 .

11- A group of egyptian youth visited saudi arabia from 17 to 28 september 2005 in accordance with article no. 2 of the executive programme of the cooperation agreement in youth and sports between egypt and saudi arabia between 2005 and 2007 , which was signed in riyadh on26/12/2004 .
