December 13th, 2009….
The Egyptian Embassy participated in the Festival, which was held under the auspices of the King, on December 5th, 2009, byattending the opening ceremony of the activities of the 4th session of the festival and meeting of the Arab pioneers and authors “Jerusalem Round”, Capital of the Arab Cultur in Amman, which is considered the nearest Arabic Capital to Jerusalem, and lasted until December 8th, 2009.
Mr. Taher al-Masri, former Jordanian Prime Minister, and President of session delivered the opening speech, which called for all Arab countries to contribute and participate and pay more attention to the role of scientists, authors through governmental and non-governmental institutions.
Actress Samiha Ayoub, Vice-President of the Festival delivered a speech, in which she welcomed the audience and announced the start of the Festival’s activities. Actor Mohammed Soubhi, representing the Arab public delivered a speech praising the role of the Festival in connecting Arab Countries with each others in the field of creativity.
The Speech of Actor Mohammed Soubhi was appreciated by all the audience, which concentrated on the role of the teacher in the Arabic Cultural, and the need to consider granting them more privileges.
The main objectives of the Festival is holding meetings and discussions among Arab Authors in various scientific, artistic, and literary specialists, to create channels of communication with them and to discuss all issues and problems, then to formulate recommendations to be presented to the League of Arab States, and to be published in the Arabic media, in addition to honoring many personalities in all areas of creativity from all the participating Arab Countries.
Prof. Dr. Samira Salem, Faculty of Science, Cairo University, scientific innovations field, and Prof. Dr. Fadl, the University of Benha, literature field and plastic-arts Karim Amin, participated along members of Festival committee.
Dr. Younan Labib Rizk and Dr. Nasser Al-Ansari were also honored as deceased pioneers.
The first and second sessions were held in Cairo, under the auspices of the League of Arab States, Damascus also hosted the third session, and the following session will be held in Qatar 2010.
