On 24th October the gates of Tutanhamen’s grave opens for the visitors. The forgotten pharaoh is the most mysterious figure of the Egyptian history. The special exhibition shows a figure to the explorers as in 1920. It is like if 3300 years haven’t passed.

 

Tutanhamen is most mysterious figure of the Egyptian history. There from he comes from the 18th dynasty that founded the new empire and with which a new cultural heyday began. Ehnaton pharaoh and his wife, the famous Nephritis’s son became a pharaoh at 7 years old, and died early at 19 years old between unclear circumstances. His successors deleted his name from all monuments; he didn’t figure in any kings-list and sank into oblivion. Unknown, he rested hidden in his grave for almost three and a half decades in the Kings Valley till Howard Carter finally found his grave.

 

Time traveling to the mysterious world of ancient Egypt

 

Howard Carter archaeologist was enthralled by the treasures in front of his eyes, when he first looked into Tutanhamen pharaoh’s grave on 26th November 1922. The chambers opening up in front of him were crammed up to the ceiling with priceless grave-inserts. The grave and the three chambers of the Egyptian ruler were reconstructed in its original form.

 

They show the information’s about antique Egyptians cultural and faith-world in the modernist and spectacular way.

 

As if 3300 years would not have passed

 

Today the grave in Kings Valley is empty except for the sarcophagus standing in the middle of it, but for the public and the Egypt fans, it is their memory. The visitors of the exhibition may inspect the grave in its original artifact state for the first time after 87 years.

 

The copied gilded deity figures are blazing in its original form. We can see the magnificent copy of the Mask, which has reputation around the world, the original one was seen in the 80s for the last time.

 

The grave chambers are open for the visitor’s one after the other, showing the exact vision as the explorer saw it. The black figure guards are like if they are still guarding the grave chambers, and the jackal is laying on the case as if 3300 years would not have passed.

 

The exhibition can be seen in Budapest, at the VAM Design Center from 24th October 2009, until 26th April 2010.
