The Secretary General of the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa, Ambassador Nevine Ashmawy, signed the proces-verbal of the discussions on implementing "The Third Country Training Program", in cooperation with the office of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Cairo and the Ministry of Agriculture. This comes within the framework of boosting trilateral cooperation between the Secretariat of the Fund and the donor organizations, which is one of the main activities of the fund.

The Secretary General stated that by virtue of this proces-verbal a course on "warm-waters fish production" will be organized for 12 weeks, and will be attended by 16 trainees from Burundi, DR Congo, Cameron, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. This course aims at building the capabilities and skills of the trainees to be able to train the fishermen, and introducing the modern technologies in the field of fish rearing and the necessary environmental conditions and helping the participating countries increase their fish exports, through a high-quality competitive production. This will contribute in overcoming the food crisis and mal-nutrition which many African countries are currently facing.
