A training course in the field of securing passages and borders of countries for trainees from 22 African countries

The Secretary General of the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa, Ambassador Nevine El-Ashmawy, stated that a month-long training course is now being held in the field of "securing the passages and borders of countries", in cooperation with Mubarak Academy for Security, in which 26 trainees from 22 African countries are taking part. The course is held within the framework of the Egyptian policy regarding the importance of sustaining and building the African human capabilities in the field of security, as a pivot to achieving sustained development in Africa.

The Secretary General outlined that the aim of these courses is to develop the skills of the African security personnel through discussing, studying and defining the borders in the international law and the general rules for securing airports, ports and land passages, and means to plan for securing the country's boarders and means of investigation and inspection as well as getting acquainted with the role of information technology in securing the ports and airports, and the role of the criminal laboratory in revealing forged traveling papers and passports, in addition to means of combating the international terrorist organizations, along with other issues of relevance. The Secretary General added that holding the training courses comes within Foreign Minister, Ahmed Aboul Gheit's directives to help the African countries materialize stability in the field of security as a prerequisite to achieving development and attracting investments to Africa, and within the framework of the annual training plan prepared by the Secretariat of the Fund to boost the African human cadres in all fields.
