An overview of the activities of the Egyptian Fund For Technical Cooperation with the Commonwealth during June 2006
First: Tour by the Secretary-General:
A tour was conducted by the Fund Secretary-General to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan in the period from 18/6 to 30/6/2006 to reevaluate and activate the Fund activities.
Second: Meetings in June 2006:
A number of meetings were held during this period to enhance relations between the General Secretariat of the Fund and the ambassadors and diplomats of the concerned countries, the most important of which were:
- A meeting with the Egyptian Foreign Minister on 11/6/2006 to review the plan for the Fund Secretary-General visit to enhance the Fund activities.
- Attending a dinner organized by Kazakhstani Ambassador to Egypt on 11/6/2006.
- Attending a dinner organized by Kazakhstani Ambassador to Egypt on 11/6/2006 to tackle the means of cooperation with the Fund.
Third: The Training Courses:
1. Republic of Albania:
The Fund offered two training courses to Albanian trainees; one of which was a course in diplomacy for 20 trainees and was held at the Center of Asian studies at the faculty of economics and political science in the period from 31/5/2005 to 16/6/2006.The second training course was in police work for 26 trainees in the police academy in the period from 2/6/2006 to 29/6/2006.
2. Republic of Georgia:
The Fund offered two training courses; one in diplomacy for 15 trainees and was held at the Center of Asian studies at the faculty of economics and political science in the period from 1/6/2006 to 15/6/2006. The second training course was in agriculture for 15 trainees and was held at the faculty of agriculture at Cairo University in the period from 8/6/2006 to 28/6/2006.
3. Republic of Moldova:
The Fund offered two training courses; one in police work for 14 trainees in the police academy in the period from 31/5/2006 to 28/6/206. The second training course was in diplomacy for 19 trainees and was held at the Center of Asian studies at the faculty of economics and political science in the period from 31/5/2005 to 14/6/2006.
4. Republic of Azerbaijan:
The Fund offered two training courses; one was in the field of economics for 14 trainees and was held at the Center of economic and financial studies in Cairo University in the period from 1/6/2006 to 5/6/2006. The second course was in the field of constructions and was held at the national center for housing and construction research in the period from 18/6/2006 to 1/7/2006.
5. Republic of Armenia:
The Fund offered a training course in foreign trade for 17 trainees and was held at the Leadership Preparation Center in the period from 3/6/2006 to 15/6/2006.
6. Republic of Uzbekistan :
The Fund offered a training course in tourism for 14 trainees and was held the faculty of tourism - Helwan University in the period from 23/6/2006 to 5/7/2006.
