1 November 2006… 1- In October 2006, several meetings were held with officials from the Leadership Preparation Center, and with the Ambassadors of Armenia and Macedonia, as well as with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan during his official visit to Egypt. The meeting with the Uzbekistani official tackled the fruitful talks held with the Egyptian Foreign Minister, highlighting the importance of the training courses offered to Uzbekistani officials in Egypt (around 800 Uzbekistani officials were trained in Egyptian centers), most of whom are currently occupying leading positions in their country. These meetings aimed at promoting relations between the Fund's Secretariat and the relevant Egyptian training centers, and between the Ambassadors and diplomats of the respective countries. 2- On 09 October, “Al Ahram Economic” magazine covered in its “Political Panorama” column, the Funds Secretary General’s tour to four of the Commonwealth countries, and his meeting with the Mongolian President 3- On 3 October, “Al Gomhouria” published an article (page 12) in the “World News” section, about the visit of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan to Cairo from 3 to 5 October 2006, and praised the Egyptian role and support in offering training courses through the Fund. 4- The Fund offered six training courses to 129 trainees in various fields during October 2006.
