President Mubarak agrees on the nomination of Ahmed Hamroush as President of the Afro-Asian Peoples' Solidarity Organization (AAPSO)

The Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry stated that President Mubarak agreed on the nomination of  the Chairman of the Egyptian Afro-Asian Solidarity Committee Ahmed Hamroush as a new President of the Afro-Asian Peoples' Solidarity Organization (AAPSO), after Dr. Murad Ghalb, who has passed away recently.

The Spokesman affirmed the great interest accorded by Egypt  to the (AAPSO), considering it a popular organization that constitutes a continuation of the Bandung goals, indicating that  the continuation of Cairo as  the Organization's  Headquarters since its establishment in 1958 is a confirmation of the Egyptian pioneering role among developing countries.

The Spokesman stated that the Hamroush's nomination  for  this position comes within the framework of Egypt's interest to guarantee the continuation of the vital role of the organization and enhancing  its image as a symbol for the effective political initiative of  the third world peoples on the international level.
