Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry expressed that Egypt welcomed the agreement reached between the Mauritanian political parties on the appropriate formulation of activating the "Dakar Framework Agreement" that paves the way for getting out of the political crisis in Mauritania and holding the presidential elections in July 18^th, 2009.

Spokesman appreciated the key role played by international mediators in this regard, mainly the Senegalese President Abdullah Wad, affirming the great interest paid by Egypt for the developments in the Arab country Mauritania, under the strong relations binding the two countries in several fields.
