Aboul Gheit reviews the current developments of achieving peace and stability in the African Horn region with the Eritrean Foreign Minister

The Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry stated that Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit met with Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh, on June 25th, at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry.

 

The Spokesman added that during the meeting, the two Ministers reviewed the positive developments witnessed by bilateral relations and means of their enhancement.

 

Both Ministers also discussed the current developments of achieving peace and stability in the African Horn region as a whole, the efforts of achieving peace in Darfur, and implementing the comprehensive peace agreement in Sudan. Moreover, Aboul Gheit and Saleh discussed the Egyptian efforts to achieve success in the Palestinian dialogue and achieve peace in the Middle East, as well as the outcomes of President Obama's visit to Cairo.

 

The Spokesman pointed out that the discussions witnessed convergence in the view points of both countries towards means to push forward bilateral relations, intensifying Egyptian-Eritrean efforts to achieve peace in Somalia, and achieving success in the efforts to ceasefire in Darfur.
