The Egyptian position on the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Touristic Cooperation among the Arab Republic of Egypt, Syrian Arab Republic, and Republic of Turkey

The Egyptian President issued decree number 64 for the year 2006, on 20 February 2006, consenting the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of touristic cooperation, which was signed by Egypt, Syria, and Turkey on 7 September 2005, with the aim of attracting tourists from tourist exporting countries such as China, India, and Japan.

The Memo aims at drafting and implementing a plan for promoting tourism to china as a first stage, India and Japan as a second stage, and the American countries as a third stage. Furthermore the Memo aims at establishing communication between the web-sites of the three countries to market tourism on the internet, benefiting from the Tourist Information Offices of the three countries abroad, and cooperating in organizing exhibitions and touristic events for this purpose.

The Memorandum comes into force upon receiving, through diplomatic channels, the latest notice from the signatory parties announcing that the national legal procedures of ratification have been completed.
