The Egyptian position on the Agreement for establishing a Free Trade Area among Arab Mediterranean countries The Presidential decree no.174 was issued on 8 June 2004, to approve the Agreement for establishing a Free Trade Areabetween Arab Mediterranean countries, signed in Rabat on 25 February 2004 between the Egyptian Government and the Governments of Morocco, Hashemite Jordan, and Tunisia, as an implementation of the second article of clause no.151 of the constitution. The decree was approved by the People’s Assembly, in its session held on 26 June 2004. The Egyptian President ratified the Agreement on 29 June 2004, to enter into force on 6 July 2006.
