25 February 2008….

1-   We have received figures about the inter-trade between Egypt and Mexico in year 2007; it shows that the volume of inter-trade amounted to $400 million, though during 2006 inter-trade had reached only $137.4 million. Hence the growth of the  volume of the Egyptian Mexican trade during 2007 increased by  300%, mainly due to the increase of the Mexican imports of Egyptian petroleum and natural gas.

2-   Mexican imports are expected to continue on the same manner or increase during the upcoming period, thus the inter-trade is likely to grow larger in the near future.

3-   The Egyptian exports reached about $340 million during 2007, while its imports amounted to about $60 million. That is to say, the Egyptian exports reached almost 5 to 6 times of its imports. So this makes the Trade Balance in Egypt’s interest.

4-   Egypt is still considered the second Arab trade partner to Mexico after the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
