The Egyptian Embassy in New Delhi held an art exhibition, on 14 November 2006, for Children’s drawings, within the framework of the embassy’s celebration of the Children's Day which also coincides with the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru. The exhibition is titled “Indian art in the eyes of Egyptian Children and Egyptian art in the eyes of Indian children”. The Egyptian and Indian sides exhibited 80 drawings each.
The organizing of this exhibition coincides with the 117th birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, an occasion chosen to celebrate Children’s Day. The exhibition was attended by a large number of Arab and African ambassadors accredited to India, as well as several academics, intellectuals and media representatives interested in the various fields of art.
Those attending voiced their admiration of the exhibited artworks, and the Egyptian Ambassador to New Delhi awarded the participants with certificates in recognition of their efforts. |
