Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak ordered four military aircrafts C-130 to leave to Chengdu on 31st May, carrying tons of humanitarian assistance and urgent relief aid to People's Republic of China, in solidarity from Egypt's government and people with relief efforts for the earthquake victims in the Sichuan Province of China. The Assistance , which includes food and medical aid, tents and blankets, comes within the framework of the distinguished relations and joint cooperation between Egypt and China in various fields .
The Egyptian community in China has so far donated tons of subsidies in two caravans of aids from the Arab communities to the earthquake victims in South China with the cost of 463,000 Chinese yuans. A sum of 81582 yuans was also presented by a number of Egyptian touristic and commercial companies which have business with China.
Egypt's Ambassador to China, Mahmoud Alam, headed to Chengdu to receive the Egyptian crafts , deliver the assistance to the Chinese government and to visit the devastated regions.
It is worth mentioning that the Sichuan Earthquake took place on 12 May and claimed the life of 80,000 people. |
