During a meeting on 25 April 2007, Assistant Foreign Minister for American Affairs, Ambassador Hatem Seif El-Nasr, delivered to the Brazilian Foreign Minister "Celso Amorim" a message from Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit. In this context, Amorim affirmed Brazil's interest in supporting relations with Egypt and the Arab world, developing bilateral relations and the importance of increasing the commercial exchange between the two countries in a balanced manner. They also agreed upon organizing Egyptian missions for commercial promotion in order to increase the Egyptian exports to Brazil.
Ambassador Hatem Seif El-Nasr outlined the communication and efforts exerted by Egypt to resume peace process in the Middle East, in addition to the preparations for the Iraq's Neighboring Countries Conference and Iraq Compact Conference which are scheduled to be held in Sharm el Sheikh next week.
The Brazilian Foreign Minister conveyed to Ambassador Hatem Seif El-Nasr, the Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva's invitation to President Mubarak to visit Brazil, expressing the Brazilian People's aspiration for the honour of receiving the Egyptian President in Brazil. |
