28 May 2007….. Foreign Minister, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, received Deputy Foreign Minister of Peru, Ambassador Gonzalo Gutiérrez Reinel, on 28 May 2007, within the framework of the latter's visit to Egypt, heading the Peruvian delegation in the third session of the political consultations mechanism between Egypt and Peru. The session was held on the same day at the headquarters of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, where the Egyptian side was headed by Assistant Foreign Minister for the Americas and OAS Affairs, Ambassador Hatem Seif El-Nasr, while the Peruvian side was headed by Ambassador Gonzalo Gutiérrez Reinel. The meeting agenda included consultations concerning the bilateral political relations and international issues of common interest, as well as means of boosting trade relations between both countries, in addition to exchanging views and coordinating on the issues presented before the UN Security Council in view of Peru's membership in the Council. The Peruvian Deputy Foreign Minister met with the Egyptian Businessmen Association to discuss means of opening markets for the Egyptian exports to Peru. He also met with officials from the Foreign Relations Committees at the Egyptian Parliament.
