Assistant Foreign Minister for the Americas Affairs and the Organization of American Countries, Ambassador Hatem Seif El-Nasr, received the Director General of the Cultural Affairs from the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Relations, Alberto Fierro Gartha, and head of the Mexican delegation participating in the joint committee for educational and cultural cooperation between Egypt and Mexico on 25-26 July. The Mexican Ambassador to Cairo also took part in the meeting.

The Mexican side demonstrated the ongoing preparations by Mexico to inaugurate the Egyptian Exhibition for Archeology in the two cities of Monterrey and Mexico City, during the period from September 2007 to June 2008, to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The meeting tackled the various fields in which cooperation can be intensified, such as the cultural, scientific and agricultural fields. Furthermore, the Mexican side expressed hopes to increase cooperation with the Arab League.
