19 October 2008.....

The Activities of an Egyptian cultural week were held during the period from 14 to 18 October in Almaty in Kazakhstan. The Egyptian folkloric dance group "Hourya" participated in the cultural event, in which a number of Egyptian films were displayed as well.

The Egyptian delegation was accompanied by Dr. Muhammad Saber Azab Head of Board of Directors of the Egyptian National Library and Archives (Dar El Kotob) as well as Plastic Artist, Dr. Muhammad Abdel Hameed and Advisor for Minister of Culture, Dr. Anwar Ibrahim.

The Egyptian Embassy in Astana organized the cultural week in coordination with the Kazakhstani side. The preparations of the event were made by Second Secretary Muhammed Salah Keshta on behalf of the Egyptian ambassador to Astana in addition to Mr. Muhammad Khalaf Commercial Counselor and Mr. Abdel Moneim El- Feqi Cultural Counselor of the embassy.

A seminar was held in "Noor Mubarak" University in Almaty in which Dr. Anwar Ibrahim delivered a lecture on the Egyptian-Kazakhstani relations under supervision of the University President Muhammed Hejazi.
