Grand Sheikh of al-Azhar al-Sharif, Sayed Tantawi, visits UK:

The Grand Sheikh of the al-Azhar al-Sharif, Dr.Mohamed Sayyed Tantawi, conducted a visit to the United Kingdom, during the period from 10 to 14 December, 2007. The visit included several activities aimed at extending cooperation between Islam and the West. The Grand Sheikh also reviewed the conditions of the Egyptian and Islamic community in Britain.

The visit included the Islamic Cultural Center in London, as well as delivering a speech before a group of experts and academics concerned with Islamic studies and Middle East affairs at Oxford University. The speech also tackled the relations among religions.

Moreover, Tantawi visited the Archbishop of "Canterbury", and the Coptic Orthodox Church in London, and Sheikh Mohammad el-Salamouny to check on his health and express al-Azhar al-Sharif as well as his personal support for him He also held a meeting with Egyptian community leaders in Britain.

Afghanistan expresses gratefulness upon showing "Abu Hanifa al-Numaan" series on the Afghani TV:

• President of Afghanistan's Parliament, Mohammad Younous Qanooni, expressed his gratitude for Egypt's presenting "Abu Hanifa al-Numaan" series to them. The Egyptian embassy in Kabul delivered the series to the Ministry of Information and Culture, in September 2007.  The Afghani television has already shown the series translated into the Pushto language.
• During the meeting with head of the Egyptian mission in Kabul, President of Afghanistan's Parliament stated that more than an Afghani MP asked him to convey feelings of gratitude to the Egyptian side regarding this issue. President of Afghani Parliament added that the series is eagerly watched by vast sectors of the society, not only for the great standing  of the Imam amongst the Afghani People, but also because it is a series introduced by an Arab Islamic country, whose subject is revised by al- Azhar al-Sharif.
• The President of Afghanistan's Parliament requested the Egyptian side to supply them with more such important programs.
