Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni paid a visit to Cuba to sign an agreement for protecting and restoring cultural heritage between Egypt and Cuba. The agreement includes cooperation in incriminating and prohibiting the entry of stolen cultural, monumental, artistic, historical, animal and botanical properties, as well as the entry of animal and botanic species without the consent of the country.

The visit also included signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Union of Egyptian Radio and Television and the Cuban Radio and Television Authority, which included cooperation in exchanging radio, television and news broadcasts and visits between experts, as well as encouraging joint productions.
