17 January 2008… Upon an invitation from Dr Hamdan Al Mazroui, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments (Awqaf), the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Ali Gomaa visited United Arab Emirates, during the period from January 9th to January 15th 2008, to participate in the authority's celebration of  anniversary of the Hegira. The Ceremony was held in Sheikh Zayed Mosque, in Abu Dhabi, on January 9th. During the celebration, Grand Mufti presented the most important aspects of the Prophet's biography. The General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments hosted Grand Mufti in the monthly meeting for the working staff in the Mosques . The meeting was organized by the authority in Ajman, on January 10th 2008, on the level of East Emirates, in Sheikh Zayed Mosque, in Ajman, where 1500 preachers, Imams, and Muezzins attend the meeting.  Crown Prince and Deputy-Governor of Ras al-khaymah, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qassimi received Grand Mufti of Egypt, to review a number of Islamic and Social issues that concern Muslims. Sheikh Al Qassimi held a dinner in the Mufti's honor.
