Concurring with the Egyptian National Day on 23rd of July, a ceremony of "the Day of Egypt" was held in Expo Zaragoza 2008 Exhibition "Water and Sustainable Development", which is being held during the period from 14 June to 14 September. The representative of the Supreme Council for Antiquities gave a presentation on original ancient Egyptian pieces of the museum in the Egyptian pavilion, relevant to the subject matter of the exhibition "Water and Sustainable Development". Commissioner General of the Exposition, Ambassador Emilio Fernandez-Castaño, hailed the efforts exerted by the Egyptian side to prepare for the significant contribution. He pointed that this participation juxtaposes the leap achieved in the bilateral relation lately, especially after the visit paid by King Juan Carlos to Egypt last February and the signing of a Friendship and Cooperation Agreement.
