Inaugurating the activities of the Egyptian cultural year in Slovenia

The activities of the Egyptian cultural year started in Slovenia .The event is organized by the Egyptian embassy in cooperation with Tankariev Cultural Center entitled "the Renaissance of the Pharaohs”. The festival's activities started with a performance by Sheikh Ahmed El Touni's religious recitation troupe, then a performance by the artist "Mahmud Fadl and his troupe" Cairo Sonic", and a performance by the musician Omar Khairat, after which the museum of Egyptian antiquities which will last for four months was  inaugurated, then a festival for Egyptian films, which was followed by a visit by the Novelist Alaa El Aswany  and an introduction of his Novel "Imaret Yakoubian" after translating it into Slovenian, afterwards an exhibition for the artist Dina Isac for pharonic restoration activities was organized, finally, the cultural year festival was concluded by a performance for  Al Arish folklore troupe".

The Egyptian embassy in Berlin hosted a reception organized by the African Cultural institute in Berlin

The Egyptian embassy in Berlin hosted a reception organized by the African Cultural institute in Berlin to celebrate the New Year. The reception was attended by the Deputy Head of the foreign relations committee at the German parliament, several African ambassadors, Portugal's ambassador to Berlin, Head of the African Cultural institute, a number of representatives of the African community, as well as German civil society.

The Egyptian Ambassador to Berlin delivered a speech in which he welcomed the participants, indicating that the celebration was synchronous with the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, and the visit of the German President to Rwanda and Uganda. The Ambassador also highlighted the importance of trilateral cooperation between Africa and Germany, indicating Egypt's cooperation with Germany in building schools and hospitals in Algeria and morocco.

Head of the African Cultural institute indicated that the institute performs many activities which aim at :

- enhancing cultural cooperation between Africa and Europe

- benefiting from the expertise of prominent African figures residing in European societies to help African countries overcome the challenges they face.

- increasing health awareness in African countries to combat AIDS, and provide treatment and medication with reasonable prices.

- providing financial support for establishing schools and vocational training centers in African countries

- establishing distance education centers.

- Enabling the integration of women into societies.

The inauguration of the Egyptian Center for studies at Nakhchivan state University in Azerbaijan

The Egyptian Ambassador in Baku inaugurated the first Egyptian Center in Azerbaijan Universities called Egyptian Center for studies at Nakhchivan state University; it was attended by a large number of Azerbaijani officials from the Ministry of Foreign and Economic affairs.

Professor Khabib Eissa El Bialy Dean of Nakhchivan University, thanked Egypt in his speech for its role in supporting his country and Nakhchivan University and the Egyptian ambassador in Baku for his initiative in dispatching two Egyptian experts to teach Arabic language at the university, and his proposal to establish an Egyptian Center for studies at Nakhchivan University. The Egyptian ambassador to Baku also gave a lecture on Egyptian Azerbaijani relations and participated in a poetry evening, performed by Azerbaijani Arabic language students.

A lecture on Alexandria Library (Bibliotheca Alexandrina) in Washington

Within the framework of cultural activities of the Egyptian embassy in Washington, the Embassy held the monthly cultural meeting hosted by Professor Randy Rubovits Seiter, who gave a lecture on Bibliotheca Alexandrina as Egypt's gateway to the world, and the world's gateway to Egypt. The professor reviewed the literary, scientific and technical potentials and the latest technological means to facilitate the access of knowledge seekers of this great civilizational edifice. The Lecture tackled the history of the library since the Ptolemaic age, as it was a beacon for knowledge for all parts of the ancient world. The reestablishment of the Library in the same place of the old one, is a continuation of the library objective in disseminating culture on the national and international levels.

The lecture was attended by a large number of American Public figures who greatly admired the services offered by the library, particularly through its internet site, they also commended Egypt's role in acquainting different peoples with the Egyptian culture and civilization whether ancient or modern.
