Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Badr El-Dien Zayed received Vietnamese special envoy Ambassador, Le Van Bang and the Vietnamese Ambassador in Cairo Le Tien Ba, at his office at the Foreign Ministry on January 14th, within the framework of the visit conducted by the Vietnamese Envoy to Cairo as a part of his country's preparations to perform its role as a member of the Security Council for 2008-2009.

The Vietnamese official got acquainted with the Egyptian vision regarding a number of regional issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, as well as the expected developments in the Peace Process after the Annapolis Conference, the American President's current tour at the region, and Egypt's stance from the Iraqi issue and Egypt's support for the Iraqi people.

The Vietnamese Envoy praised the relations between Vietnam and Egypt, and the keenness of the Vietnamese side to get acquainted with the Egyptian opinions and visions regarding the international issues and the Egyptian stance within the Arab framework.
