Results of the Egyptian-Moroccan High Joint Committee

(9-13 May 2006)

The sixth round of the Egyptian-Moroccan High Joint Committee was held in the period from 11 to 13 May 2006, and was headed by the Egyptian President and the Moroccan King. The agreements, protocols, and memoranda of understanding signed at the end of the round included:

  1. A Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism, Handicraft and Social Economy in the field of handicraft.
  2. A Memorandum of Understanding in the field of administrative development in both countries.
  3. A Memorandum of Understanding in the field of immigration and expatriates living abroad.
  4. An Executive program for cooperation in the field of tourism for 2007-2009.
  5. An Executive program for bilateral cooperation in the field of housing and construction for 2007-2008.
  6. An Executive program for cooperation in the field of environment protection for 2006-2007.

The Political Consultation Committee also held meetings headed by the Foreign Ministers of both countries. The memoranda of understanding and the executive programs signed at the end of the meeting on 12/5/2006 included:

  1. An Agreement for social security.
  2. A Technical Cooperation Protocol between Ministries of Justice of both countries.
  3. A Framework Protocol for cooperation between the Ministry of State for Legal and Parliamentary Councils in Egypt and the Ministry in charge of relations with the Parliament in Morocco.
  4. Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Moroccan Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Economic Modernization in the field of technological development centers.
  5. An Executive program for cultural, educational, and media cooperation for 2007-2009.
