27 December 2006…. Within the context of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s follow up on the resolutions of the Eighth Conference of the Foreign Ministers of member States of the Barcelona Process who participated in its meeting held in Finland in November 2006, at which the Egyptian initiative was adopted, Egypt assuming the role of the Arab coordination, to host the second Euro-Mediterranean conference for Communication and Information Technology, during the second half of 2007, Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Ambassador Fatma Al zahra Etman held a coordination meeting at the Foreign Ministry, on 26 December 2006 with the representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. During the meeting both sides discussed the preliminary arrangements regarding the conference, and the means of building on it to acquaint others with the progress achieved by Egypt in this field, putting into consideration the priority Egypt grants to the Communication and information technology sector, and in light of the advantages its enjoys among which are  its geographical location, and its infrastructure.
