Assistant Foreign Minister for the African Affairs and the African Union Affairs, Ambassador Shamel Nasser, met on April the 16th, with the Ambassadors of the African countries accredited to Cairo at the foreign ministry headquarters. The meeting tackled various issues, including the current preparations Egypt is carrying on to host the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit, to be held at the end of June. It also discussed the activities of the Indo-African summit, which was recently held in New Delhi, and the preparations carried out by Egypt to host the conference and exhibition of ''Africa-Telecom'', which is to be held in the first half of May, as well as the meeting of the African Ministerial Council for Communications.
