1 April 2008…. Within the framework of the Egyptian Burundian cooperation in the field of health, the Burundian newspaper "Le Renouveau" published an article on 31 March 2008, on the Burundian government receiving medicine aid which the Egyptian Government used to send since 2005. Noteworthy, both sides signed an agreement on establishing an Egyptian/Burundian medical center during the 5th joint Egyptian Burundian commission which had been held in Cairo, April 2006. Moreover, about 18 Egyptian physicians of different specializations have been dispatched to work in a number of Burundian governmental hospitals.
