27 January 2008… The Egyptian  Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mortada Lashin, received a letter from Former Special Representative of  the UN Secretary General in Democratic Congo, Ambassador William Swing, in which he thanked the Egyptian government and people for the sincere cooperation with the peace-keeping mission, during the period he had held the office of the Head of the Mission of the United Nations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC).
