A successful round of Egyptian political consultations in Djibouti and Tanzania

 Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs returned to Cairo today after a successful round of political consultations in  Djibouti and Tanzania .

Ambassador Nasser was assigned by the Foreign Minister to meet with a number of senior officials in Djibouti  foremost of whom was Prime Minister Dileita Mohamed , Foreign Minister Mahmoud Youssef , and Minister of Higher Education Abdi Ebrahim. Ambassador Nasser's talks with the Djiboutian side tackled several issues including the special preparations for hosting the next African Union Summit in Sharm El Sheikh , regional problems in Africa and the importance of Egyptian Djiboutian coordination in this regard. The two countries also had identical viewpoints regarding the importance of solving the root causes of the problems .

Ambassador Shamel Nasser also held similar consultations in Tanzania with Foreign Minister Bernard Membe and a number of senior officials .The Ambassador also delivered President Mubarak's invitation to the Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete to attend the World economic forum in Sharm El Sheikh next May . The consultations also tackled bilateral relations between Egypt and Tanzania , and the importance of promoting them to broader horizons and consolidating them within the framework of the historical ties between the two countries and in a manner that serves African interests .

The Assistant Foreign Minister stated , after returning to Cairo,  that his consultations in Djibouti and Tanzania have demonstrated the depth of the distinguished historical relations binding Egypt  with Tanzania and Djibouti , and reflected the identical viewpoints in the various issues that were discussed.
