The Alexandria Band for Folkloric Arts won first prize in the Pan-Africa Music Festival (FESPAM) which was held in the Republic of Congo, surpassing other participating bands including the prominent Congolese and South African popular bands.

This prize reflects the true appreciation of the Congolese side for the authenticity of the refined Egyptian arts, which were performed by the Band in an outstanding manner, and were admired by the audience, whether the youth, Congolese officials, or the Arab or foreign communities residing in Congo.
