27 November 2007….. Personal Representative of the Italian Prime Minister " Prodi" for Africa, and Director General for African Affairs, Ambassador Armando Sanguini conducted a short visit to Cairo during which she met with Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs, Ambassador Shamel Naser, on November 27th. Both sides held consultations where they discussed African issues of common concern, including the situation in Sudan, the UN and AU efforts to establish peace in Darfur and alleviate the suffering of its inhabitants, as well as the developments of the relation between the ruling partners in northern and southern of Sudan. Both sides have also exchanged views concerning the developments of the situation in the African Horn. This visit comes within the framework of the continuous consultations between the Foreign Ministries of both countries, as Ambassador Shamel Naser conducted a visit to Rome during the period from 11 till 13 November.
