Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, took note of the statement issued by the European Union Presidency on March 3rd 2007 on the constitutional reform process in Egypt.
Mr. Aboul Gheit reaffirmed that Egypt has always considered the EU to be a valued and strategic partner with which it enjoys special relations in all fields, which is best evidenced by the EU-Egyptian Action Plan recently signed in Brussels.
Furthermore, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs understood that Egypt was undergoing a comprehensive process of political, economic and social reform that endeavours to ensure a better life and future for the Egyptian people. Mr. Aboul Ghiet also reiterated that Egypt is firmly committed to its partnership with the European Union and looks forward to continue receiving support and technical assistance from the EU.
