Foreign Minister Receives a Call From the Head of Libya's Presidential Council
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid said Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received on Monday, November 7, a telephone call from Fayez Al-Sarraj, head of Libya's Presidential Council. Al-Sarraj stressed the keenness of the Libyan Presidential Council to see constant communication with Egypt and coordination on all developments regarding the situation in Libya. He also stressed the depth of Egyptian-Libyan relations and their durability and the need to not allow any party to negatively impact that relationship.
The spokesperson added that Shoukry confirmed Egypt's full support for Libya at this important stage in its history, and support for all efforts aimed at implementing the Skhirat agreement, pointing to the importance of maintaining Libyan national institutions and assisting all parties to achieve consensus in order to uphold the interests of the Libyan people .
On his part, the head of Libya's Presidential Council stressed the full confidence that the Libyan people and their Presidential Council have in Egypt and its support for the stability and integrity of Libya, indicating his intention to visit Egypt in the coming period.
