Foreign Ministry implements a comprehensive plan for supporting Afghanistan technically
Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with the Commonwealth States started to implement a comprehensive plan for supporting cooperation with Afghanistan in the various fields, such as rehabilitating diplomatic cadres, training specialists in fields of transport and eradicating illiteracy, dispatching experts to restore the monuments of the Afghani Ghazni Province which had been selected as cultural capital of the Islamic World for the year 2013.
The Fund also is currently organizing training courses in the security field for 90 Afghani trainees at the Police Academy . It is expected that these courses would continue for a year at the request of the Afghani side, which expressed admiration for the level of training their police cadres receive in Egypt, especially that Security is of great importance to the stability of Afghanistan.
It is known that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has two funds for technical cooperation, one concerned with African countries and the other with countries of the former Soviet Union and Afghanistan. Both funds organize training courses for cadres of the two regions, and dispatch Egyptian experts, trainers, doctors and engineers to assist in the development process in these countries through bilateral programmes or cooperation with international donors.
