Egypt asks US to immediately interfere to stop Israeli assault on Gaza

15/11/2012

Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr called US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton Wednesday night 14 November, 2012, asking her to immediately interfere to ceasing the Israeli offensive on the Palestinian people in Gaza, warning against the consequences of Israeli military escalations.

Minister Amr warned against the repercussions of the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip, stressing Egypt’s condemnation of such assault and demanded immediate cessation of all acts of violence, stated the Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Minister Plenipotentiary Amr Roshdi.

The Foreign Minister affirmed that unless the Israeli aggression stops, things would gradually run out of control. Moreover, he called upon the United States to use its own contacts with Israel to stop aggression.

The Spokesman said that Egypt's Ambassador in Washington carried the same message to the U.S. National Security Advisor, at the request of Egyptian Foreign Minister.
