The Egyptian Agency for Partnerships for Development (EAPD) organized a diplomacy training seminar on February 15-26, 2015, for 24 diplomats from African countries, including Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Eritrea, Zambia, Namibia, and Djibouti, at the Institute of Diplomatic Studies affiliated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The training program tackled the issues related to Egyptian foreign policy, African organizations, the United Nations, protocols, water diplomacy and other issues associated with diplomacy.
In this context, Secretary General of the EADP Ambassador Hazem Fahmy delivered a speech in which he welcomed the ambassadors attending the opening ceremony and the trainee diplomats to their second home country of Egypt, and wished them success in the program. Ambassador Fahmy outlined the outstanding relationship between Egypt and her African brotherly countries, and the priority given to the programs of the agency in various fields, stemming from the ties between the Egyptian and African peoples. Noteworthy, the training course has been organized by distinguished Egyptian experts in diplomacy and international relations, in light of the international stature of the Institute for Diplomatic Studies - one of the oldest diplomatic institutes in the world.
